He must improve his Parkour!

Barnaby showed me that he can climb up a tree. Unfortunately, he has not yet learned how to climb down a tree.

He balanced precariously on the thin branches and cried.

I suggested that he jump onto my back but he didn’t seem keen to land on a furry trampoline so I had to alert the tall person.

Tall person came and reached up and rescued our intrepid “traceur”.

Tall person said that Barnaby must improve his Parkour skills – a physical discipline which focuses on efficient movement around obstacles.  Developed in France by David Belle, the main purpose of the discipline is to teach participants how to move through their environment by vaulting, rolling, running, climbing, and jumping. Parkour practitioners are known as “traceurs”.

Hmm, Barnaby’s Parkour skills seem to be okay when my food bowl is being filled!

  1. Poor little Bob did that once, but he was too far up to be reached without a ladder. I’m glad tall person could reach Barnaby and I’m sure Barnaby will learn very quickly how to get down from trees!

  2. OMD! I’m never seen a cat climbing on a tree!!! Of course, I know cats jump higher than us dogs and they walk on a narrow fence or on the roof, but somehow, this photo like ” cat on a tree” is the first one for me!!! 🙂

  3. Did you recently read about that cat that lived in a tree for 6 years? Really, I just read it yesterday. She even had 3 litters there. I do no think she knew that Parkour technique. Be careful out there! – DogDaz

  5. Sorry we have not been here for a few days Bassa… the old guy has been busy painting his tractor but we are back now. Poor Barnaby…. the old guy has had to go up on the roof and rescue a few kittens through the years…. we wish we could climb trees and go on roofs.. those squirrels would be in trouble then!

Your friends who missed our daily visit,
    the collies and chuck 🙂
