My one-sheep-flock wanted to sleep under the stars tonight so we are bedding down on the toy room balcony. I think he is still a little nervous after this afternoon’s bear encounter. I have told him that nothing will hurt him because bears are afraid of me, especially tiny bears.
Stay close little sheep and count sheep if you can’t sleep. One, two, three………ah, he has fallen asleep. Hmm, easy on the snoring little sheep.
Goodnight everyone. Sheep dreams. We shall see you in the morning.
Mr. ‘Crazy’ Parrot went to bed early so I had the balcony to myself for most of the evening. It was great. I was able to fully relax and dribble profusely. I haven’t yet told him about the feedback he received regarding his ‘open letter’ posted on my blog. I am sure he will ask me tomorrow. He will obviously be pleased about the suggestions regarding upgrading his accommodation to improve its ability to withstand drool. I will ask the tall person if he can do something about that.
My main concern is that I am sharing the balcony with a militant parrot, especially as he now understands the power of the word and could set up his own blog and Facebook page and mobilise the global parrot community against me. Ah well, I will do my best to resolve the situation and if that fails I always have the option of ‘accidently’ opening his cage and letting him join his bird friends in the trees.
Goodnight friends. I will dream of Mr. ‘Crazy’ Parrot flying free – the way nature intended!
De sometimes has a hot chocolate before bedtime. She says it makes her sleepy. I’m not allowed chocolate but I like the smell.
The tall person told me that the Maya of Central America believed that cocoa was the drink of the gods. Wow! They must have slept a lot!
Goodnight world. The smell of De’s hot chocolate has made me feel very sleepy.
There you are! Come on De, it’s time to sleep. You know I can’t settle until everyone is in bed. Come on, turn off the lights – it’s time to sleep!
I am recuperating from the mad parrot attack with the help of lovely De.
Goodnight everyone. Sweet dreams – except for Mr. Parrot!
Apparently I have to clean the floor tomorrow. It’s going to be tricky – I usually eat mops!
Goodnight world. It’s a dog’s life.
The tall person’s birthday celebration is continuing but I have over-indulged on cake and my tummy is full and I just want to sleep.
Tall person, can you please turn the music down a little – some of us are trying to sleep!
Goodnight everyone. I shall see you in the morning.
I can’t find my sheep so I will go to sleep with a sheep substitute tonight. I know it’s a shoe and nothing like a sheep but it looks well travelled and deserves to rest under my protection.
Goodnight shoe. Goodnight friends.
As it was De’s birthday today we had a lovely cake after dinner. I love cake. The tall person and the little person sang happy birthday and ate a lot of cake! I had some too. Later, I sat with De on the balcony and she read Gerald Durrell’s ‘My Family and Other Animals’ to me as she sipped her birthday champagne. The Greek island of Corfu sounds lovely and I like Roger the dog. She read in Georgian, which I’m still learning. My first language is English because the tall person speaks it.
De had a very happy birthday today. We all made a fuss of her and the tall person did the washing up!
It’s sleep time now. I think I will dream of Corfu tonight. Goodnight everyone.
